Emmetson Zeah, 19, has been sentenced to life without the possibility of parole, plus an additional 70 years to be served consecutively, for the fatal shooting of two teenagers outside The Mall in Columbia in February 2025. Zeah was convicted on multiple charges, including two counts of first-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and firearms-related offenses stemming from the deadly shooting.

Authorities said the violence unfolded on February 22, 2025, in the parking lot and bus stop area along Little Patuxent Parkway outside the mall. Responding officers with the Howard County Police Department found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims, Michael Robertson, 16, and Blake McCray, 15, both of Columbia, later died from their injuries.

According to charging documents, investigators used surveillance footage, witness statements, and court-ordered GPS monitoring data to place Zeah at the scene during the shooting. Court records also stated Zeah told investigators the firearm used in the mall shooting would match ballistic evidence connected to another nearby shooting on Valentine's Day.

In that earlier incident, authorities alleged Zeah fired several shots at an individual on Twin Rivers Road but missed. Investigators later determined ammunition recovered from both crime scenes contained matching stamp markings, further linking the cases. During a search of Zeah's residence, detectives recovered a firearm believed to match shell casings found at the Columbia Mall crime scene, along with clothing and other evidence tying him to the killings.
