Veteran shot in parking lot by Florida Woman

92 views 3 hours ago

A lot of people are calling for charges after a woman fatally shot a man in the parking lot of a Walmart in North Lauderdale after an argument over a parking space on June 30, 2026. According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the dispute escalated outside the store, and the woman fired a single shot that struck 62-year-old Bart Diguglielmo in the abdomen. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Since videos of the shooting were released, many commenters on news stories and social media have argued that the woman should be arrested and prosecuted, saying the shooting was not justified based on what they saw in the footage. Others believe she acted in self-defense and should not be charged. The case is currently under review by prosecutors, who will decide whether to bring charges.

Cellphone and dashcam video of the incident show the woman pointing a handgun while backing away as Diguglielmo approached her. At one point she can reportedly be heard saying, “Walk away,” before the shot is fired. The woman remained at the scene, cooperated with investigators, and told deputies she acted in self-defense.

As of today, authorities have not publicly identified the woman, and no charges have been announced. The case is being reviewed by the local State Attorney’s Office to determine whether criminal charges are appropriate.
